We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Transport Manager to oversee the efficient operation of our logistics and transportation activities. Duties
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily transportation operations to meet organisational objectives
- Manage a team of drivers and logistics staff, providing guidance and support to optimise performance
- Oversee scheduling of deliveries and collections, ensuring timely and cost-effective routes
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, vehicle maintenance, and driver logs using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal departments to facilitate smooth communication and resolve any logistical issues
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, transport legislation, and company policies
- Analyse transportation data to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and cost reduction
- Implement IT solutions to streamline logistics processes and enhance overall productivity
- Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules to minimise downtime and ensure fleet safety standards are met
Experience
- Proven management experience within logistics or supply chain environments
- Strong driving background with knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards
- Extensive experience in logistics planning, route optimisation, and supply chain management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) along with good IT literacy skills
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Strong leadership qualities combined with exceptional communication skills in English
- Customer service orientation with the ability to handle stakeholder queries professionally
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
