This opportunity is for Surgical or Medical Nurses all across Somerset. This is an opportunity to work in our Accident and Emergency Department of Yeovil District Hospital.

Main duties, tasks & skills required
Experienced Band 5 post holders will also provide effective clinical and managerial leadership of the department, in the absence of the senior members of the team, which empowers staff to deliver patient- centred, evidence based nursing care
To provide effective clinical nursing skills to the ED Department during the shift around a 24 hours period. Part of the team which empowers staff to deliver patient- centred, evidence based nursing care within a defined budget.
Support the systems for a multi-disciplinary approach to patient-centred care delivery, which builds on the philosophy of greater involvement of patients and their relatives/carers by using the Trusts patient and public involvement strategy.
Delivers patient care including health promotion on a daily basis to emergency patients who present with undifferentiated conditions including life-threatening emergencies to adults and children and will present unscheduled and unannounced at any time throughout the 24 hour period.
Ensure line manager/hospital management aware of staffing short falls, bed shortages/department overload, responding to requests for information to enable them to ensure safe resolution.
