Job Position: Housing officer
Hours: Ad Hoc basis (2-3 days a week)
Wage: Up to £14 an hour depending on experience
PLEASE NOTE: This job will require travel regularly across the West midlands. Full UK driving license and vehicle will be required for travel to sites. Mileage is included.

We are currently looking for an experienced Housing officer to work within our group on ad hoc basis, to carry out property visits and manage a number of properties. Experience of working in a social housing or similar environment is required. The role currently will be to help manage around 150 properties across the Midlands, North West and North East and South regions. Qualifications to complete PAT and Legionnaire testing will also be much appreciated but not required as training can be provided for PAT and Legionnaire testing. The properties in our portfolio are Supported Living services, there may be times where you will be in the properties with the service users and their care team. For this reason, applicants will require an Enhanced DBS before employment. This role will require you to be a driver and have access to your own vehicle as travelling will be expected.
Housing Officer Duties:
- Attending our sites and completing Property Reviews, including an initial visual inspection and walk around the property inspecting any repairs and compiling all information in a report format online.
- Help our tenants support their tenancies.
- dealing with abandoned tenancies, squatters and unauthorised occupiers.
- Maintaining records and writing reports.
- identifying housing needs.
- interpreting and implementing housing legislation.
- monitoring and updating contractor's lists
- To advise the Maintenance Team of any maintenance requirement within the service properties
- To Log Meter Readings
- To ensure supported housing management policy and procedure is correctly implemented
- To carry out exit inspections whenever a Tenant is due to leave the property
- To write up notices and warning letters as when they are requires to be served to the tenants.
Additional duties may include:
- processing applications for housing Benefits
- managing and administering repair and maintenance
- dealing with housing applications and the transfer of existing tenants.
- liaising with tenant groups, local authority councillors, property professionals and other support and welfare organisations, including social workers and estate agents;
- encouraging and supporting tenant's and resident's groups and attending meetings as required.
- investigating and responding to client complaints
Pay: £14.00 per hour
