O’Toole Transport are looking for an experienced HGV Mechanic to support our growing fleet operation.
We’re looking for someone who can work independently as well as part of a team, diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and manage jobs through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs across the fleet
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults
- Complete defect repairs efficiently to minimise vehicle downtime
- Carry out inspections and preventative maintenance
- Prepare vehicles and trailers for MOT and compliance requirements
- Support breakdown response where required
- Work alongside operations to prioritise fleet availability
- Maintain maintenance and repair records
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience working on HGVs, trailers and commercial vehicles
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of work
- Good understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair processes
- Practical, hands-on approach
- Reliable and proactive attitude
Desirable
- Full HGV driving licence – preferred but not essential
- Experience working with Scania and Volvo vehicles
- Time served mechanic
- Trailer maintenance experience
- Diagnostic software experience
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys problem solving and takes pride in keeping vehicles operating safely and efficiently.
