1-to-1 Dementia Care Assistant
We are looking for caring, reliable and compassionate individuals to join a small, dedicated care team providing 1-to-1 support to a lady living with dementia in her own home.
The role:

The role focuses on providing care, dignity, independence, companionship and reassurance, while supporting the individual to maintain a safe, comfortable and meaningful daily life in familiar surroundings.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing compassionate 1-to-1 care and companionship throughout the shift
- Supporting with personal care and daily routines as required
- Preparing meals and encouraging good nutrition and hydration
- Supporting with medication in accordance with the care plan
- Assisting with mobility and maintaining a safe and comfortable environment
- Encouraging and supporting hobbies, activities and social interaction
- Using appropriate reassurance, distraction and communication techniques when required
- Monitoring and reporting any changes in wellbeing, mood or behaviour
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date daily care records
- Working collaboratively as part of a small, consistent and supportive care team
- Following the individual's care plan, risk assessments, safeguarding procedures and agreed ways of working
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Compassionate, patient and genuinely caring
- Reliable, punctual and dependable
- Calm and reassuring when supporting someone living with dementia
- Respectful of privacy, dignity, choice and independence
- Able to work confidently on their own while also being a supportive team member
- Comfortable working 12-hour shifts
- Flexible and willing to work weekends and some bank holidays
- Experienced in dementia care, or willing to undertake appropriate training
Previous experience of working with people living with dementia is highly desirable.
Relevant care qualifications are an advantage, but we recognise that the right attitude, reliability and genuine commitment to person-centred care are equally important.
