Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Support Worker to join our team. The role involves providing specialised support to individuals with mental health needs in the community, including those with autism and disabilities. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily activities, including personal care and medication administration where appropriate
- Support behavioural management programmes, utilising techniques such as applied behaviour analysis (ABA)
- Work with children and adults with autism and other disabilities to promote social skills and behavioural development
- Implement individualised care plans tailored to each client’s needs
- Monitor and record clients’ progress, behaviours, and any incidents accurately
- Foster a safe and supportive environment, ensuring clients’ emotional and physical safety at all times
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals and educators, to optimise care strategies
- Encourage participation in therapeutic activities and community outings to enhance social integration
Experience
- Prior experience working adults in mental health or special education settings is desirable
- Knowledge of applied behaviour analysis (ABA) techniques is advantageous
- Experience working specifically with individuals with autism or disabilities is highly valued
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols and patient care procedures is beneficial
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team are essential
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills and patience are critical qualities for success in this role
Pay: From £12.71 per hour
