What You’ll Be Doing
The main purpose of the role is to lead and supervise production operations within a food ingredient manufacturing environment, ensuring all production, quality, safety, and people-related objectives are met, whilst maintain a ‘hands on’ approach.
The Production Supervisor is responsible for coordinating staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards, maintaining a clean and efficient production environment, and driving a culture of continuous improvement and team engagement
Main Responsibilities:
· Conduct regular 1:1s (one-to-one meetings) with direct reports to support development, address concerns, and monitor performance.
· Manage shift staffing levels, authorising breaks and annual leave requests, and reallocating tasks to meet production priorities efficiently.
· Ensure all production targets and deadlines are met in line with customer order dispatch dates.
· Ensure all production activities are compliant with BRC, HACCP, and company food safety standards.
· Monitor the preparation and processing of batches (slurries, drying, mixing, etc.) to ensure correct recipe adherence, quality, and traceability.
· Lead effective shift handovers, both verbal and written, using company tools (e.g., logs, emails, reports).
· Ensure the production area, warehouse, and workstations are clean, organised, and free of debris at all times.
· Oversee correct wrapping, labelling, and storage of product pallets, ensuring they are not obstructing walkways or workflows.
The Ideal Candidate
This hands on role would be perfect for someone from a food production background, with management/supervisory experience.
- Physical Fitness: Must be able to lift 25kg comfortably.
- Skills: Basic reading, writing (for batch numbers), and basic IT skills (emails).
- Attributes: High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Preferred: Counterbalance FLT license is a plus, but not essential.
- Requirement: Previous Supervisory experience within a production environment
- Must have the right to work in the UK (No visa sponsorship available).
