At RS Steelwork Ltd, we are specialists in high-quality architectural & structural steel fabrication, serving clients across Kent. With a reputation built on precision, reliability, and craftsmanship, we are expanding our operations and seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to lead our dynamic team and drive workshop performance.
The Role:
As Workshop Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our busy steel fabrication workshop. You’ll ensure projects are delivered on time, to specification, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical knowledge, team management skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate workshop activities and personnel
- Plan workloads and allocate resources to meet production deadlines
- Ensure all fabrication work meets company and customer specifications
- Maintain health and safety standards in compliance with regulations
- Liaise with project managers, clients, and suppliers as needed
- Monitor stock levels and ensure efficient use of materials
- Maintain equipment and ensure the workshop is well-organized and tidy
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar role within steel fabrication or manufacturing
- Strong technical understanding of steelwork, welding, and fabrication processes
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Knowledge of health & safety practices and workshop procedures
- A hands-on, solutions-focused approach
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £36,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
