An exciting opportunity has arisen for two part-time Stores Assistants within the Institute of Photography.
Reporting to the Stores Manager, the key focus of this role is to provide support to students who are seeking to loan equipment, the safe and appropriate storage of technical equipment, accurate and timely data input into the booking system and ensuring that the technical stores area is kept tidy and well maintained. Attention to detail is crucial to keep the equipment in perfect working order. You will also be required to provide demonstrations to students, teaching staff and external customers.
Health & Safety is a key focus and as such you will be required to adhere to Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times, also when appropriate and necessary, to both challenge and guide all users of our service to ensure their compliance in this regard.
We are looking for enthusiastic candidates who have experience of working within a technical / stores environment and ideally have a flair for maintaining and repairing technical equipment. You will be a customer focussed individual with excellent communication skills, key to this role is the ability to engage with students.

- Excellent IT skills
- Ability to work under your own initiative and within a team
- Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with all users of the technical stores area
These positions are offered on a permanent, 20 hours per week, 36 weeks per year basis.
The Stores are open Monday to Friday, 9am to 8pm and Saturdays 9am to 5pm.
The hours for each role are below, with flexibility required to allow for additional stores cover and training needs.
Position One:
Monday to Friday 4pm – 8pm
Position Two :
Wednesday 3pm – 7pm, Thursday and Friday 2.45pm- 7pm and Saturday 08.45am – 17.15pm (with one hour unpaid lunch on the Saturday.)
