The Faculty of Life Sciences (FLS) combines the strengths of UCL’s basic biological and preclinical sciences and is associated with 11 Nobel Laureates. Our work focuses on trying to answer some of the most enduring questions about life on earth, and also to solve the urgent problems faced by all living things. Our research spans an incredible breadth of scientific areas, from studies of the behaviour of single molecules, to developing cells, neuronal circuits, and up to entire ecosystems full of living things. We are supported by platform technologies and facilities ranging from advanced electron microscopy to a research centre on a National Trust nature reserve.
Our students are closely integrated into our community through research-embedded teaching, including our highly rated, and world-leading undergraduate programmes, a UK-leading MPharm degree, as well as a wide range of exciting Master's programmes.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Education Administration and Student Experience Team (EASE). The Faculty of Life Sciences (FLS) EASE team is made up of five areas: Clinical, Programmes, Research, Learning Technology and Student Wellbeing & Casework. The team is led by three Education Managers and supported by Education Coordinators across the teams. You will work in a collaborative and innovative team who are committed to excellence in customer service.
We’re looking for brilliant and proactive Education Coordinator (G7) to lead the administration and delivery of a diverse portfolio of programmes, including placements and departmental assessments across multiple campuses and organisations.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone keen to develop their skills and build a rewarding career within the FLS EASE team. The roles will cover a suite of programmes across the faculty with diverse range of subjects from Ecology to Neuroscience and a professionally regulated Master of Pharmacy degree. We are seeking an organised collaborative Education Coordinator to join the EASE team. You will lead the administration and operational delivery of a portfolio of taught programmes, supporting students throughout their academic journey from application to graduation.
You will work closely with academic and professional services colleagues to ensure the smooth delivery of teaching, placements, assessment, examinations, quality assurance processes, and student support activities, while managing and developing a team of Education Administrators.
Key Responsibilities
- Line management of several grade 6 staff.
• Coordinate and negotiate a range of key areas; placements, admissions, enrolment, and timetabling. • Coordinate professional accreditation activities and ensure compliance we key factors such as fitness to practise and attendance.
- Manage assessments and exam boards.
- Work in partnership with academic colleagues to deliver an excellent student experience.
- Liaise with key external stakeholders such as the NHS, Community Pharmacies and partners such as Natural History Museum and London Zoological Society.
- Ensure student and staff queries are responded to professionally and promptly
- Contribute to wider activities across the Division of Biosciences and the School of Pharmacy and support other programmes as needed.
Working Arrangements
. • We will consider applications to work on a part-time, flexible and job share basis wherever possible.
- This is a hybrid role, with a faculty expectation of a minimum of 60% on-campus working. While we are committed to supporting flexible working, the successful candidate will be expected to work in a way that meets the operational needs of the role.
- The position involves a significant amount of student-facing activity, and during peak periods, such as induction, welcome events, assessment, and examinations, the postholder may be required to work on campus up to five days per week for sustained periods to support delivery. In addition, EASE has recently undergone significant organisational change, and regular in-person collaboration will be important to support colleagues, build team cohesion, and embed new ways of working across the faculty.

Excellent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Word, with the ability to manage and manipulate data effectively. You’re confident working both independently and collaboratively, and you bring a positive, patient, and professional approach to everything you do. Strong communication skills are essential.
