About the role
We’re looking for reliable, confident and friendly Parking Attendants to join The Patch MK team for our 2026 Autumn season.
Our parking team plays an important role in keeping the site running safely and smoothly. You’ll help manage the arrival and departure of vehicles within our on-site parking areas, guide visitors into appropriate spaces and help ensure pedestrians and vehicles can move around the site safely.
This is an on-site role within our private car parks and event site – you will not be directing traffic on public roads.
For many of our visitors, the parking team will be the first members of The Patch MK team they meet and the last they see when they leave. As well as keeping vehicles moving safely and efficiently, we want our Parking Attendants to provide a friendly and welcoming start and finish to every visit.
The role is active, outdoors and can be very busy, particularly around event opening and closing times. You’ll need to be comfortable working on your feet, communicating clearly with drivers and visitors, and remaining calm and confident when the site is busy.
Full training will be provided before your first shift.
Key responsibilities
Your duties will include:
- Welcoming visitors as they arrive at The Patch MK
- Directing vehicles safely into designated parking areas and spaces
- Helping maintain a steady and organised flow of vehicles through the car parks
- Directing visitors towards the correct entrances and areas of the site
- Helping pedestrians move safely between the car parks and event entrance
- Monitoring parking areas and communicating available capacity to the wider team
- Communicating with other team members using two-way radios
- Supporting the safe and efficient departure of vehicles at busy times
- Providing clear, polite instructions to drivers and visitors
- Maintaining a friendly, professional and visible presence
- Following The Patch MK's site procedures, risk assessments and instructions from supervisors and management
- Responding appropriately to changing conditions, including traffic levels, weather and visitor behaviour
- Supporting the wider event team where required
About you
We’re looking for people who are dependable, confident and comfortable working in a busy outdoor environment.
You’ll need to communicate clearly with drivers and pedestrians and be confident giving directions while remaining polite and approachable.
Reliability is particularly important. Our parking operation depends on having the right number of team members in place at the right times, so we need people who will arrive punctually and can commit to the shifts they agree to work.
You should be:
- Confident communicating with members of the public
- Comfortable directing vehicles within a private car park
- Calm and sensible when working around moving vehicles
- Friendly, approachable and professional
- Happy working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Comfortable being on your feet for extended periods
- Able to work effectively as part of a team
- Able to listen to and follow instructions
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable using a two-way radio following training
- Able to remain calm during busy arrival and departure periods
Previous experience in event parking, car park marshalling, events, festivals, visitor attractions, stewarding or other customer-facing roles would be beneficial, but isn't essential as full training will be provided.
Applicants must be aged 18 or over.
Working hours & event dates
This is a seasonal casual position during October 2026, with shifts available across our daytime Pumpkin Patch and evening The Patch MK After Dark events.
Daytime Pumpkin Patch:
3–4, 10–11, 17–18 and 23–31 October 2026
The Patch MK After Dark:
10, 16–17, 23–25 and 28–30 October 2026
You do not need to be available for every event date. However, we ask that you provide clear and accurate availability when applying so that we can plan our team and rota effectively.
Once shifts have been agreed, we expect team members to commit to them. Last-minute absence can have a significant impact on the safe and efficient operation of our car parks and the wider event.
Some flexibility around shift start and finish times will be required, as these will be based around visitor arrival and departure patterns.
