As our Real Estate Finance practice continues to grow, we are looking to recruit an ambitious Real Estate Finance Lawyer with approximately 2–3 years' post-qualification experience to join our expanding team.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated solicitor to work closely with experienced partners and senior lawyers acting primarily for bridging lenders and specialist finance providers.
The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of secured lending transactions from initial instruction through to completion, whilst providing a high standard of technical advice and client service.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Acting for bridging lenders and specialist finance providers on loan originations.
- Managing matters from instruction through to completion.
- Undertaking detailed title due diligence.
- Investigating title and identifying legal risks affecting secured lending transactions.
- Preparing comprehensive Reports on Title.
- Drafting and negotiating legal documentation including:
- Legal Charges
- Debentures
- Guarantees
- Deeds of Priority
- Deeds of Postponement
- Security documentation
- Reviewing searches and raising requisitions where appropriate.
- Liaising with borrowers' solicitors, valuers, brokers and other professional advisers.
- Satisfying lender conditions precedent to completion.
- Coordinating completion and post-completion matters.
- Registering security at HM Land Registry and Companies House where applicable.
- Maintaining accurate file management and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Providing commercially focused advice to clients.
- Supporting partners and senior lawyers on larger or more complex transactions.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales.
- Approximately 2–3 years' PQE.
- Experience acting for bridging lenders and specialist finance providers.
- Strong understanding of secured lending transactions.
- Experience carrying out title due diligence.
- Experience preparing detailed Reports on Title.
- Experience drafting security documentation.
- Excellent technical legal skills.
- Strong organisational and file management abilities.
- Excellent client care and communication skills.
- Ability to manage a caseload with minimal supervision.
- Commercial awareness and pragmatic approach to problem solving.
- Excellent attention to detail.
Desirable:
· Experience acting on development finance transactions.
· Experience acting on portfolio or multi-property secured lending transactions.
· Experience acting for banks, challenger banks or specialist finance providers.
· Experience dealing with corporate borrowers and complex security structures.
· Experience working in a fast-paced lender-side real estate finance practice.
