Make a Lasting Difference in a Child’s Life
Could you be the person who helps a young person believe in themselves again?
At Emerge & Excel Care, we believe every child deserves to feel safe, heard, valued and supported. We provide trauma-informed, therapeutic care for children and young people, and we're looking for compassionate, resilient people who want to do more than just a job — they want to make a genuine difference.
If you're looking for a rewarding career where everyday matters, we'd love to hear from you.
The Role
As a Residential Children’s Practitioner, you'll become an important and trusted part of a young person's life.
Working in a therapeutic residential setting, you'll help create a home where children and young people feel safe, secure and supported. You'll be there for the big moments, the small victories and the challenging days — helping young people build confidence, develop independence and work towards a brighter future.
No two days will be the same, but every day will give you the opportunity to make a difference.
What you'll be doing
- Building positive, trusting relationships with children and young people
- Supporting emotional wellbeing, daily routines and independence
- Helping create a safe, stable and nurturing home environment
- Following care plans and accurately recording important information
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and partner professionals
- Promoting safeguarding, safety and positive behaviour support
Who We're Looking For
You don't need to have all the answers. What matters most is your character, compassion and commitment.
We're looking for people who are:
- Caring, resilient and genuinely child-focused
- Able to build positive professional relationships
- Confident working as part of a team
- Good communicators with strong observation and record-keeping skills
- Committed to safeguarding and trauma-informed practice
- Passionate about helping young people achieve positive outcomes
- Hold a full UK driving licence
- Aged 21 or over
Build a Career, Not Just a Job
This isn't just an opportunity to join a team — it's an opportunity to build a long-term career in residential childcare.
As you develop your skills and experience, there are progression opportunities into:
Senior Practitioner → Deputy Manager → Registered Manager → Responsible Individual
You'll receive ongoing training, professional development and support to help you grow with us.
