We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Plant Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our Northwick Power Plant. The successful candidate will manage a team of three Process Operators, ensuring the site remains compliant, efficient and safe at all times. This is a hands-on role for a proactive individual who can balance immediate operational demands with a long-term focus on continuous improvement.
The role operates within a shift pattern from Monday - Sunday with 4 shifts on / 4 shifts off with the working times of 06.30am - 18.30pm. Responsibilities
- Direct supervision of three Process Operators, providing training, feedback and technical guidance to ensure a high-performing culture.
- Review and respond to operational alarms and process deviations.
- Oversee the daily feeding and maintenance of the AD plant, ensuring the team stays ahead of their scheduled responsibilities.
- Maintain accurate operational records and reports.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, permits, policies and procedures.
- Maintain housekeeping standards throughout the facility.
- Drive and operate a range of mobile plant machinery.
- Liaise with the maintenance team and laboratory technician.
- Supervise contractors on site including the issuing of permits.
- Investigate and report incidents, near misses and safety concerns.
- Monitor key process parameters including, biogas production, CHP performance, feedstock and digester health.
- Complete firstline maintenance.
Skills
- Proven track record in a Supervisory or Team Lead role, with the ability to motivate a small operational team.
- Previous experience within Anaerobic Digestion, wastewater treatment or a similar process-driven industrial environment would be preferred.
- Strong understanding of health and safety.
- Ability to interpret operational and maintenance data.
- Good problem solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively bridge the gap between site operators and senior management.
- Experience with SCADA and process control systems.
- To work within your proposed shift pattern. Changes to working patterns may be necessary, in order to meet the needs of the business.
- Shift Pattern – 4 On 4 Off – 12 Hour Days
Pay: Up to £37,000.00 per year
