Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Customs Clearance Agent to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the customs clearance process for imported and exported goods, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and facilitating smooth movement across borders. Your expertise will help optimize supply chain efficiency, reduce delays, and maintain excellent relationships with customs authorities, carriers, and clients. Responsibilities
- Coordinate and execute customs clearance procedures for international shipments, ensuring adherence to FDA regulations and other relevant compliance standards.
- Utilize transportation management systems (TMS), EDI (Electronic Data Interchange), and AS400 platforms to process documentation accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate with freight forwarders, 3PL providers, and customs brokers to facilitate timely clearance of goods.
- Conduct data entry tasks related to shipment details, import/export documentation, and compliance records with precision.
- Negotiate with customs officials and carriers to resolve clearance issues swiftly while maintaining positive relationships.
- Manage lead generation efforts by identifying new opportunities within B2B sales channels related to logistics services.
- Maintain detailed records of shipments, clearance statuses, and regulatory compliance using CRM software and logistics databases.
- Support supply chain operations by coordinating logistics activities, tracking shipments, and troubleshooting delays or discrepancies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with transportation management systems (TMS), CNS,EDI, AS400, and CRM software in a logistics or customs environment.
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes, freight forwarding, and international trade regulations including FDA standards.
- Excellent negotiation skills to liaise effectively with customs officials, carriers, and clients.
- Knowledge of 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) operations and B2B sales strategies within the logistics sector.
- Ability to perform accurate data entry while managing multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Familiarity with logistics software tools such as CRM platforms and supply chain management systems.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and compliance procedures.

Pay: £25,420.00-£33,237.54 per year
