As our business continues to grow, we're looking for a friendly, organised and proactive Customer & Operations Administrator to become the first point of contact for our customers and support the day-to-day running of the business.

The Role
The purpose of this role is simple: keep our customers informed, our operations organised and free up our Managing Director to spend more time helping customers and growing the business.
You'll become the first voice our customers hear, helping create an outstanding first impression while ensuring every enquiry is handled professionally, efficiently and with genuine care.
We're looking for someone who enjoys speaking with people, is highly organised and can confidently manage multiple tasks while working independently.
Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Enquiries
- Answer incoming telephone calls professionally and confidently.
- Respond to customer emails promptly.
- Book technical home surveys into the company diary.
- Provide reassurance and guidance to prospective customers without using high pressure sales techniques.
- Ensure all new enquiries receive a prompt response, ideally within 10 minutes during working hours.
Sales Administration
- Send survey confirmations and appointment reminders.
- Follow up outstanding quotations and proposals.
- Keep accurate customer records.
- Liaise with customers throughout their journey and answer general enquiries.
Operations Support
- Arrange scaffold bookings.
- Coordinate installation dates with customers and installation teams.
- Assist with scheduling and diary management.
- Ensure customers remain informed throughout every stage of their project.
Compliance & Documentation
- Complete and submit various technical and administrative documents (full training provided).
- Prepare and organise customer paperwork.
- Maintain organised digital records and documentation.
Software You'll Use

Full training will be provided on any specialist software and documentation required.
We're Looking For -
Essential
- Friendly, approachable and professional.
- Confident speaking with customers over the phone.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Able to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks.
- Comfortable working independently and making routine decisions.
- Previous administrative experience.
- Excellent computer skills.
Desirable
- Experience within the electrical, construction or renewable energy industry.
- Previous customer service experience.
- Experience within the solar industry (highly desirable but not essential).
Working Hours
- Approximately 25–30 hours per week initially.
- Hours can be flexible and arranged around school hours where appropriate.
- Hybrid working to begin with.
- Transition to a predominantly remote role during the early stages.
- Long-term vision to become office based as the business continues to expand over the next 10–12 months.
- Opportunity to progress into a full-time (40-hour) position as the company grows.
What Success Looks Like
Within the first six months you will:
- Ensure every new enquiry is contacted within 10 minutes during working hours wherever possible.
- Keep customers updated throughout every stage of their project.
- Maintain organised customer records and schedules.
- Reduce administrative workload so the Managing Director can focus primarily on customer surveys and business growth.
- Help deliver an exceptional customer experience that generates positive reviews and referrals.
