POST: Recovery Worker/Better Together (LERO, Lived Experience Recovery Organisation)
LOCATION: Doncaster
GRADE: 3; Salary: £26,603 FTE, £13, 302 (Actual)
WEEKLY HOURS: Part-time, 17.5 hours per week
Purpose of the Job:
· Change the public perception of recovery in a bid to reduce stigma
· Make recovery visible and empowering
· Encourage peers to join and play an active part in LERO
· Support and enable growth & structure
· Promote Project 6’s culture & values
· Raise awareness at public/community events
· Showcase recovery within local industries
· Provide volunteer opportunities
· Make LERO an integral part of the Sober Social community
Support Project 6 staff based at Sober Social as and when it might be required.
What is LERO? 'A Lived Experience Recovery Organisation. Simply, it is an independent organisation led by people with lived experience of drug and alcohol recovery'
Key Responsibilities
· Relationship building: Engaging with local groups, networks and stakeholders to grow the recovery community.
· Advocacy: Representing LERO at local forums and strategic meetings.
· Data & Reporting: Recording data and evaluating progress
· Developing & Creating Podcasts: Inviting guest speakers, LERO and the public to discuss related topics and amplifying lived experience voices
· Have an integral role at Doncaster’s Welcome Centre once a fortnight
What we are looking for:
· Strong understanding of LERO and peer support
· Experience or understanding of community engagement
· Ability to work independently and remotely/strong communication skills
· Motivation and creativity
· Experience of Microsoft Office Suite
· Ability to plan and organise events
· Someone who can drive and has access to own vehicle
· Some knowledge of basic audio equipment and set up
