Position: Part-Time Site Cleaner and Recycling Operative
Location: Barley Chalu, Ayton Road, Wymondham, NR18 0QH
Working Hours: 15-20 hours
Salary: £12.50-£15.00/hour
Summary:
The Part-Time Site Cleaner and Recycling Operative is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards on site while ensuring effective recycling operations. This role involves cleaning various site areas, handling waste, and sorting recyclables to promote a safe and eco-friendly environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Cleaning:
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming of site facilities such as offices, restrooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces.
- Ensure all areas are kept clean and tidy to meet health and safety standards.
- Clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces and restock cleaning supplies as needed.
Waste Management:
- Collect and dispose of waste materials from designated areas.
- Empty and clean waste bins regularly to prevent overflow and maintain cleanliness.
- Handle and dispose of hazardous materials according to company policies and safety regulations.
Recycling Operations:
- Sort and separate recyclables from general waste, ensuring correct disposal in designated recycling bins.
- Compact and bale recyclable materials as required.
- Monitor recycling stations and report any issues or requirements to the supervisor.
Maintenance:
- Report any maintenance issues, damage, or safety hazards to the site supervisor promptly.
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks and repairs as needed.
Health and Safety:
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies at all times.
- Participate in safety training sessions and emergency drills.
Customer Service:
- Interact professionally with site personnel and visitors, addressing any cleaning or recycling-related queries.
- Provide assistance and support to colleagues and other departments when necessary.
Requirements:
Experience:
- Previous experience in cleaning and/or recycling operations is preferred but not essential. Training will be provided.
Skills:
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Holding a forklift licence would be beneficial, though not required.
