About the Role
We are currently seeking a motivated and hands-on Victaulic Roll Groover Operator to join our team in the Oldham area. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality processing of pipework products while supporting production targets and maintaining company standards.
The role involves operating Victaulic grooving machinery, accurately measuring and preparing pipework, completing production documentation, and carrying out quality checks to ensure all products meet company specifications before progressing to the next stage of manufacture. The successful candidate will be expected to work efficiently, maintain high attention to detail, and follow all health and safety procedures within the production environment
Key Responsibilities
- Operating Victaulic roll grooving machines to produce grooves on steel pipework
- Measuring pipe accurately using tape measures and production drawings
- Checking groove dimensions and quality before passing to the next stage of production
- Cutting and preparing pipework to required lengths from production sheets
- Completing daily production and quality paperwork accurately
- Carrying out general housekeeping and maintaining a safe working area
- Following health and safety procedures at all times
- Supporting production targets while maintaining quality standards
Manual Handling Requirements
This role involves regular manual handling and physical work, including:
- Lifting and moving steel pipework and components
- Repetitive handling of materials weighing over 10kg
- Working on your feet for extended periods throughout the shift
Applicants must be physically capable of carrying out manual handling duties safely.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience within fabrication, manufacturing, or pipework environments preferred
- Experience operating machinery or hand tools advantageous
- Ability to read and work from production sheets
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety
Full training will be provided for the successful candidate.
