The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Audit Senior to join a highly regarded and growing accountancy practice in Stratford-upon-Avon.
This firm has built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality audit and advisory services to a diverse client base while maintaining a strong focus on employee wellbeing, flexibility and professional development. With approximately 50 employees across the practice, the business offers the benefits of a close-knit and supportive culture combined with exposure to a broad range of clients and assignments.
The successful candidate will join an established Audit team and take responsibility for managing audit assignments from planning through to completion. The role offers exposure to owner-managed businesses, group companies, UK subsidiaries of multinational organisations and clients with turnovers up to £130 million.

Key Responsibilities

Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion and manager review.

Undertake and oversee audit fieldwork at client premises and within the office.

Prepare Audit Findings Reports and other client deliverables.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.

Plan audit assignments, including budgeting and analytical review procedures.

Ensure audit files are completed accurately and efficiently for review.

Attend stock takes where required.

Supervise, delegate and review the work of Audit Assistants and Trainees.

Support and mentor junior team members, assisting with their professional development.

Prepare statutory accounts under IFRS, FRS102 and FRS102 1A.

Research and resolve technical accounting and audit matters.

Work collaboratively with colleagues across Audit, Accounts and Tax to deliver exceptional client service.

Maintain knowledge of developments in accounting standards, auditing standards and legislation.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
-
ACA or ACCA qualified.
-
Minimum of 3 years' audit experience within an accountancy practice environment.
-
Experience leading audits from planning through to completion.
-
Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, ISAs and Companies Act requirements.

Experience working with owner-managed businesses.
-
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Strong organisational and time management abilities.
-
High attention to detail and analytical mindset.
-
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Must be willing to travel - occasional basis, nationally.
Desirable

Experience of group audits and consolidations.

Knowledge of accounts preparation.

Basic corporation tax knowledge.

Experience using CCH software.
