Capella Industrial are recruiting on behalf of a long established and financially stable precision engineering manufacturer based in Mansfield.
Our client has built an outstanding reputation for designing and manufacturing complex tooling solutions for customers across multiple industries. Operating within a low volume, high precision manufacturing environment, they combine traditional craftsmanship with modern CNC machining, EDM and advanced manufacturing techniques to deliver exceptional quality and long term customer partnerships.
Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Operations Manager to lead manufacturing operations across the site.
The Opportunity
This is far more than a production management role.
You'll take ownership of day to day manufacturing operations, leading experienced teams across CNC machining, EDM, toolmaking, project delivery and quality. You'll work closely with senior leadership to improve performance, develop people, streamline processes and help shape the future direction of the business.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop manufacturing teams across machining, toolmaking, quality and production.
- Take ownership of production planning, capacity and on time delivery.
- Work closely with engineering and project teams to ensure smooth project handovers.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, quality and efficiency.
- Monitor KPIs and implement improvements across manufacturing performance.
- Maintain excellent standards of health and safety, quality and housekeeping.
- Support investment in equipment, manufacturing processes and operational improvements.
- Build a positive culture focused on teamwork, accountability and continuous development.
About You
You'll already have experience leading manufacturing operations within a precision engineering environment and be comfortable managing multiple departments within a technically demanding business.
You'll ideally have experience within one or more of the following:
- Precision engineering
- CNC machining
- Toolmaking
- Mould tools
- Die tools
- Low volume manufacturing
- Specialist engineering
You'll also bring:
- Previous experience as an Operations Manager, Works Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Engineering Manager or similar leadership role.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Good understanding of machining, EDM, toolroom or precision manufacturing processes.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to balance quality, delivery and cost.
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
