Part 2 Architectural Assistant – Nottingham
We are seeking a talented and motivated Part 2 Architectural Assistant to join our team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Part 2 Architectural Assistant to join our established Architecture team, working as part of a team on a diverse portfolio of exiting projects across a range of sectors throughout the UK. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to projects at different stages of the design and delivery process, developing your design and technical skills while working alongside experienced architects and other built environment professionals.
YMD Boon is a multi-disciplinary construction consultancy with over 60 years of combined experience in architecture, building surveying, and health and safety, underpinned by the longstanding expertise of our founding practices. With offices in Market Harborough, Nottingham, Lincoln, and Birmingham, our established presence enables us to support clients nationwide.
The Role:
As a Part 2 Architectural Assistant you will be:
· Assist with projects across RIBA work stages, from concept design through to technical design and construction.
· Produce detailed architectural drawings, plans, elevations and sections using REVIT and AutoCAD software.
· Develop 3D models, visualisations and presentation materials.
· Ensure compliance with building regulations, planning permissions, and safety standards.
· Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies.
Key skills and experience:
· RIBA Part 2 / ARB Part 2 qualification or equivalent.
· Strong understanding of UK architectural practice and the RIBA Plan of Work.
· Ability to produce accurate plans, elevations, sections and construction details.
- Good Knowledge of CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
- Strong understanding of building regulations and planning policies in the UK.
- Creative problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience with sustainable design practices.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modelling) is advantageous.
- A Strong architectural portfolio demonstrating design and technical ability.
- Experience working on projects through planning and technical design stages.
