Job Title: Catering Assistant/Kitchen Porter
Trust Location: Hampshire & Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS FT
Location: Gosport war memorial hospital CPU, Bury road, Gosport, PO12 3PW
Hours: 37.5 hrs / Monday - Friday
Shift Pattern: 10:30am - 18:20pm
Payrate: £14.05 per hour

What you’ll be responsible for:
- Wash and clean all dirty pots, pans, utensils, dishes, plates, trays, and cutlery to maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene.
- Operate dishwasher and utensil-washing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Return all clean equipment, crockery, cutlery, and utensils to the correct storage areas.
- Carry out routine kitchen cleaning duties in accordance with cleaning schedules and food safety standards.
- Complete all required cleaning records and documentation accurately and on time.
- Assist chefs with the cleaning of kitchen equipment and food preparation areas.
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors at the end of each shift, ensuring all areas are left clean and safe.
- Clean and sanitise both dishwasher and utensil washer daily.
- Descale dishwasher and utensil-washing machines weekly, or more frequently if required.
- Monitor and replenish water softeners, ensuring salt tablets and granules are topped up as required for each machine.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment at all times.
- Follow all Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, and COSHH procedures.
- Support the wider catering team with general housekeeping and cleaning tasks as required
The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.
You’ll have the following skills/experience:
· Excellent customer service.
· Excellent communication skills
· Experience in a similar role
· Level 2 Food Safety Certificate Required
