The role
Based at our Headington campus and reporting to the Associate Director of Knowledge Exchange and Impact, the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Manager will be responsible for leading the strategic development and successful delivery of the University’s KTP portfolio, building high-value collaborations between academics and businesses.
This is a permanent, part time 0.6FTE post.
About the team
The Directorate of Research Innovation and Enterprise provides support to facilitate world leading research, cutting edge innovation and promote engagement with stakeholders and beneficiaries. The Directorate comprises three teams: Research Support and Governance, Knowledge Exchange and Impact and Innovation and Enterprise. The role is based within the KE and Impact team which supports and facilitates engagement between academics and external stakeholders to achieve societal and economic impact from Oxford Brookes research.
What will I be doing?
- Leading the strategic development and performance of the University’s KTP portfolio.
- Overseeing the end-to-end KTP proposal process, ensuring consistency, quality and compliance.
- Working with Faculties to build a strong cohort of academics to deliver KTPs.
- Managing a pipeline of KTP prospects, planning application development cycles and taking the lead on triaging new opportunities.
- Managing relationships with senior leaders in business, the professions and third sector.
What skills do I need?
- Commercial background with experience of project development, management and funding within the university sector and the UK’s innovation ecosystem.
- Substantial business development experience including client management, marketing, project delivery and finance.
- Preparation of business cases in particular Knowledge Transfer Partnerships applications.
About the location
Based at our Headington campus, you’ll experience the vibrant campus atmosphere and benefit from our modern office environment. The campus is one mile from the centre of Oxford and is served by regular public transport. This role will be hybrid and the role is likely to require 1-2 days on campus per week based on business need and travel to external organisations as required.
