Job description
We are currently looking for Skilled Civils Pipe Layers to join our team, working on water treatment and civils projects across the Reading, Oxford and Slough areas.
We are looking for experienced, reliable and hardworking individuals with a strong background in civil pipe laying and underground utilities.
Experience in the following would be advantageous:
- Ductile iron pipe installation
- Water treatment or utilities experience
- Civils pipe laying and underground drainage
- Installation of water, sewer and drainage pipework
- Reading and working from drawings and levels
- Excavation, trenching and pipe installation
- Pipe bedding, jointing and backfilling
- General civils and groundwork
- Working safely around live services and active construction sites
- Operating relevant plant such as dumpers and rollers
What we're looking for:
- Proven experience as a Civils Pipe Layer / Groundworker within the civils sector
- Strong knowledge of underground pipework and drainage systems
- Good understanding of construction methods and site safety
- Ability to read drawings and work accurately to levels
- Reliable, hardworking and punctual attitude
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Relevant CPCS, NPORS or other plant tickets would be an advantage
- Water or utilities experience would be highly desirable
Pay rate is £26 CIS

This assignment will take place on an active construction site controlled by our client. Workers may be exposed to the normal risks associated with construction activities, including moving plant and vehicles, manual handling, uneven ground, noise, dust, working at height, and interaction with other site activities. Site-specific risks will be briefed in full at induction on your first day on site and task-specific risks will be briefed daily or as required. You must adhere to all site rules, risk assessments and method statements, task briefings, toolbox talks, permits, supervision and required PPE
