Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Kitchen Manager to oversee the daily operations of our busy culinary establishment. As Kitchen Manager, you will be responsible for managing kitchen staff, ensuring food safety standards are met, and maintaining a high standard of food quality. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all kitchen activities, including food production, preparation, and presentation
- Manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
- Oversee food safety procedures and ensure compliance with health regulations and standards
- Develop and implement menus in collaboration with executive chefs or owners
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain efficient operations
- Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area at all times
- Maintain high standards of food quality and consistency across all dishes served
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Manage budgets, control costs, and optimise resource utilisation
- Foster a positive team environment that encourages professional growth and teamwork
Skills
- Proven experience in food production, cooking, serving, and food preparation within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong management skills with previous supervising experience in a culinary environment
- Extensive restaurant experience with a solid understanding of kitchen operations and management principles
- Culinary expertise with a comprehensive knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire team members
- Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in managing inventories, budgets, and supply chains effectively
- Barista experience is considered an asset for roles involving beverage service alongside culinary duties
- Exceptional communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and suppliers
- A passion for hospitality excellence coupled with a proactive approach to problem-solving
Pay: £27,420.00-£29,540.59 per year
