As the business continues to develop, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Commercial Catering Engineer to join our team.

The Role
As a Commercial Catering Engineer, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing commercial catering equipment across a variety of foodservice environments.
You will work directly with our customers, providing a professional and technically competent service while helping to keep their kitchens operational, compliant and performing at their best.
The role will involve working on a broad range of equipment and manufacturers, making it ideal for an engineer who enjoys fault finding, problem solving and the variety that comes with field-based engineering.
Key Responsibilities
· Service, maintain and repair commercial catering equipment including combination ovens, cooking equipment, fryers, dishwashers and associated kitchen equipment.
· Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults using technical documentation, wiring diagrams and manufacturer information.
· Identify faults accurately and provide practical, cost-effective repair solutions.
· Repair and replace defective components in accordance with manufacturer specifications and relevant safety requirements.
· Carry out preventative maintenance and equipment inspections.
· Complete installations, commissioning and equipment modifications where required.
· Maintain accurate service records detailing faults identified, work completed, parts used and any further recommendations.
· Communicate professionally with customers, explaining technical issues and recommended solutions clearly.
· Work independently while also supporting colleagues and the wider CDM engineering team.
· Represent CDM professionally when attending customer sites.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for an experienced engineer who takes pride in their work and approaches engineering problems methodically and professionally.
· Previous experience servicing, maintaining and repairing commercial catering equipment.
· Current commercial catering gas competencies, ideally including CCCN1 and COMCAT 1, 3 & 5, together with appropriate Gas Safe registration for the work undertaken.
· Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
· The ability to confidently read wiring diagrams, schematics and technical documentation.
· A practical understanding of commercial kitchen equipment and installations.
· Good communication and customer service skills.
· The ability to manage your own workload and work effectively in the field.
· A professional, reliable and positive approach.
· A willingness to continue learning and developing technically.
Experience working with Rational equipment would be advantageous. As Rational Service Partners, CDM can provide access to manufacturer training and ongoing technical development for the right candidate.
Additional experience or qualifications in refrigeration and air conditioning would also be advantageous but are not essential.
