At Sheffield Forgemasters we have an exciting opportunity for a Data & Analytics Engineer to join our team.
This role is based at our 64-acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield, and will be working as part of our IT and Data team.

As a Data & Analytics Engineer you will play a key role in strengthening our data foundations across our manufacturing systems. Working closely with stakeholders, you’ll improve data quality, governance, and consistency across platforms such as ERP, MES, and EAM, ensuring data is accurate, structured, and fit for purpose.
You’ll also support business reporting and data analysis, helping build the robust data environment needed to enable future analytics and digital transformation initiatives.
What you’ll be doing

Improve and maintain data quality, integrity, and consistency across ERP, MES, EAM, and other business systems.

Support data governance activities, ensuring compliance with data standards, policies, and GDPR requirements.

Manage and maintain master data, driving consistency across integrated systems and processes.

Develop data definitions, metadata, and reporting standards to create a trusted "single source of truth".

Partner with stakeholders across Supply Chain, Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering to align data with operational processes.

Extract, analyse, and interpret data from multiple systems to support reporting, KPIs, and business decision-making.

Collaborate with IT, business users, and governance teams to resolve data issues and promote best practices.

Support data lifecycle, security, audit, and compliance activities to protect critical business information.
About You
-
Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Management, or a related discipline.

Proven experience in a data-focused role, such as Data Engineering, Data Stewardship, or Data Analysis. (Minimum 5 years)

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including Supply Chain, MRP, Asset Management, and machine/IoT data.

Experience with Master Data Management (MDM), SQL, relational databases, and integrating data from multiple systems.

Experience using reporting and visualisation tools such as Power BI.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable
-
Experience working within a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of ERP, MES, PLM, or EAM systems.

Experience supporting major system implementations and data migrations.

Familiarity with data governance, data quality, data modelling, and system integrations.

Exposure to statistical analysis and emerging analytics techniques.

The Working Pattern
This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday 0745-1600.
