Qualified Accountant – Property Development & Property Management Experience

MH Corporation is a growing property development and property management company with an expanding portfolio of residential developments and investment properties across South East London. We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Qualified Accountant to manage the financial management of the business and support its continued growth with our accountants.
The Role
We are looking for a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with experience in both property development and property management. The successful candidate will take ownership of the company’s finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, cash flow management, VAT returns, budgeting, tax compliance, and strategic financial planning And checking rents in and banking. We require someone that thinks outside the box and is commercially minded. This role is a long term career moving into FD role of this family wealth office.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly and annual management accounts.
- Produce statutory accounts and liaise with external accountants.
- Manage cash flow forecasting across multiple development projects.
- Prepare development appraisals and monitor project profitability.
- Oversee company budgets and financial reporting.
- Manage VAT returns, including CIS and partial exemption where applicable.
- Prepare corporation tax information for external advisers.
- Oversee service charge accounting and client accounts where required.
- Monitor rental income, arrears, and property management financial performance.
- Liaise with banks, lenders, solicitors, surveyors and professional advisers For completion statements
- Produce financial reports for directors and investors.
- Assist with acquisition and refinancing transactions.
- Maintain robust financial controls and improve business processes.
- Manage payroll, pensions and supplier payments.
- Ensure compliance with all HMRC and Companies House requirements.
Essential Requirements
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
- Minimum 5 years’ post-qualification experience.
- Previous experience within property development and/or property management.
- Excellent knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax legislation.
- Strong understanding of development finance and cash flow forecasting.
- Experience preparing management accounts.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience using accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or similar.
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Desirable
- Experience with property management software Quickbooks.
- Knowledge of construction accounting and CIS.
- Experience working with development funding and bank reporting.
- Experience within an owner-managed property business.
