Responsibilities
- Perform blood draws using proper phlebotomy techniques, ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Verify patient identity and explain procedures clearly to reduce anxiety and ensure cooperation
- Maintain strict aseptic technique during specimen collection to prevent contamination or infection
- Prepare and label specimens accurately for laboratory testing, adhering to all protocols
- Follow established safety guidelines, including basic life support protocols, to respond effectively in emergencies
- Document all procedures meticulously in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Proven proficiency in phlebotomy and specimen collection techniques
- Experience with aseptic technique and infection control practices
- Laboratory experience including handling specimens and understanding lab workflows is advantageous
- Certification in basic life support (BLS) or CPR is required or desirable
Pay: £18.00 per hour
