About Edgbaston Wellness Clinic
Edgbaston Wellness Clinic is an established private health, wellness and medical aesthetics clinic providing a broad range of facial aesthetics, advanced skin, laser, body, hair restoration and medically led treatments.
We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Senior Aesthetician to join our multidisciplinary clinic team.
This is a hands-on practitioner role rather than a clinic-management position. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver consistently high-quality treatments, undertake thorough consultations, demonstrate excellent technical competence and provide a professional client experience from initial assessment through to treatment, aftercare and review.
You will work alongside medical practitioners and other clinic professionals within a setting that combines advanced aesthetics with wider private healthcare and wellness services.
The role
The Senior Aesthetician will be responsible for delivering a broad range of advanced aesthetic, skin, laser and body treatments within their qualifications, competence, insurance and the clinic’s approved scope of practice.
The successful applicant must be capable of working independently, managing a treatment diary and making safe, appropriate decisions about treatment suitability.
We are particularly interested in applicants who can demonstrate strong practical competence across several advanced treatment areas rather than relying solely upon certificates.
Key responsibilities
You will be expected to:
- Undertake detailed and professional client consultations.
- Assess the client’s skin, concerns, treatment objectives and expectations.
- Obtain and document relevant medical history, medication, allergies and previous treatment information.
- Identify contraindications, cautions and circumstances requiring clinical escalation.
- Develop appropriate and realistic treatment plans.
- Explain treatment options, anticipated outcomes, limitations, risks, downtime and aftercare.
- Obtain valid and informed consent before treatment.
- Deliver treatments safely, confidently and to a consistently high standard.
- Monitor client comfort and skin response throughout treatment.
- Take clear and standardised before-and-after photographs with consent.
- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous treatment records.
- Record relevant products, batch numbers, expiry dates and equipment settings.
- Provide clear verbal and written aftercare advice.
- Arrange appropriate reviews, follow-up appointments and treatment courses.
- Recognise adverse reactions and escalate concerns promptly.
- Decline or postpone treatment where it would be unsafe or inappropriate.
- Maintain excellent infection prevention, hygiene and treatment-room standards.
- Complete equipment checks and report faults immediately.
- Manage appointment times effectively without compromising quality.
- Recommend appropriate professional skincare and homecare products.
- Encourage suitable treatment-plan continuation and rebooking.
- Contribute to client retention and the commercial development of the clinic.
- Support less experienced colleagues through professional example and informal guidance.
- Participate in training, competency assessment and continuing professional development.
- Support approved clinic promotions, treatment demonstrations and client events.
- Contribute to appropriate social-media and before-and-after content where consent has been obtained.
- Maintain client confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times.
- Work strictly within qualifications, competence, insurance and clinic protocols.
