Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable system architectures utilizing technologies such as AWS, Azure, VMware, Kubernetes, and virtualization platforms.
- Collaborate with clients to analyze their existing IT infrastructure and recommend enhancements aligned with best practices in system design, security, and performance optimization.
- Develop comprehensive solutions leveraging a wide array of tools including SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server), NoSQL databases, RESTful APIs, SOAP web services, and microservices architectures.
- Manage system administration tasks across various operating systems such as Windows, Linux, UNIX, and ESXi environments to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Oversee network configurations including VPNs, firewalls, DHCP, DNS, load balancing, and service-oriented architecture (SOA) integrations to secure and streamline data flow.
- Implement DevOps practices using tools like Jenkins, Git, continuous integration pipelines, shell scripting, Bash (Unix shell), and Docker containers to accelerate development cycles.
- Provide expert guidance on information security protocols including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and cybersecurity best practices to safeguard organizational data.
- Support clients in adopting modern development frameworks such as.NET, JavaScript frameworks (CSS/HTML), C#, Java, Ruby on Rails, VBA, C++, and OOP principles for robust application development.
- Conduct debugging sessions and troubleshoot complex issues related to system performance or software bugs across diverse platforms.
- Facilitate training sessions for client teams on system administration tasks and new technology integrations to ensure smooth adoption and ongoing support.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of computer networking concepts including TCP/IP protocols, DNS management, DHCP configuration, load balancing techniques, VPN setup, firewall management, and network security best practices.
- Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure for deploying scalable applications and managing cloud resources efficiently.
- Strong proficiency in database management systems including SQL (T-SQL), MySQL, PostgreSQL; familiarity with NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Cassandra is a plus.
- Expertise in scripting languages such as Python, Bash (Unix shell), Shell Scripting for automation tasks.
- Deep understanding of operating systems including Windows Server environments; Linux distributions; UNIX; VMware ESXi; virtualization technologies; Kubernetes container orchestration.
- Knowledge of system architecture principles focusing on service-oriented architecture (SOA), microservices design patterns & RESTful API development.
- Experience with DevOps tools like Jenkins for CI/CD pipelines; version control systems such as Git; containerization with Docker; configuration management tools like Ansible or Puppet is advantageous.
- Familiarity with enterprise software solutions including Salesforce integration; Pegasystems; Web services; XML/JSON data formats; SOAP APIs.
- Strong grasp of cybersecurity measures including information security policies; encryption standards; access controls; vulnerability assessments.
- Ability to analyze complex systems using tools like Simulink for modeling or debugging software issues effectively.

Pay: £34,989.56-£96,438.40 per year
