Applications are invited for a Band 7 Clinical/Counselling Psychologist for a fixed term, 18-month position. The post is based in Eastleigh, though involves working across other bases across the Southampton and South West Hampshire Division. Flexible working and some working from home will also be considered according to clinical need.
You would be joining a friendly and supportive team of clinicians, who pride ourselves on delivering high quality care and promoting recovery. We are committed to continuing professional development and self-care, and ensuring staff are able to achieve the right work-life balance. All psychological therapists within the service are embedded within clinical teams, contributing to MDT care planning and the delivery of trauma informed care, and offering psychological assessment and evidence-based therapies. Within the service, we offer a range of therapies, including: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), family interventions, Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Main duties, tasks & skills required
To provide a qualified specialist psychological therapies service to the Community Mental Health Team's (CMHT) in the Southwest and Southampton Division; providing specialist psychological assessment, interventions and therapy. This may include working with families/ carers where appropriate. Individuals will primarily present with complex psychological problems that would benefit from the services of the CMHT. The post holder will offer advice and consultation on individuals' psychological care to non-psychological therapist colleagues and to other, non-professional carers, working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures. To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the team/service in line with service need. The post holder will place an emphasis on co-production and demonstrate an attitude which respects and values patients' and their carers and the core values of the trust: compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence.
