Our Electrical Installation Engineer plays a pivotal role in helping us to deliver our mission and achieve our strategic goals by carrying out the requirements for installation and commissioning work on critical power equipment, specifically generators and control panels, at our customer sites.
Do you possess expert knowledge of generators and control panels that will aid the team at P&I in commissioning and completing installations?
Key responsibilities:
Carry out electrical and mechanical installation and commissioning of generators, control panels, fuel systems and related critical power equipment.
Build and configure control panels and associated systems.
Perform electrical and mechanical works required to install and commission generators, control panels, fuel systems and associated critical power equipment.
Complete full testing processes including FAT and SAT.
Install and configure telemetry, BMS connectivity and related communication devices.
Deliver customer training on the safe and effective use of critical power equipment.
Conduct accurate site surveys to support the sales team with quotations.
Provide technical support to the service team, including fault finding, breakdown response, repairs, PPM and testing.
Our ideal candidate will have:
Essential
Experience working with generators, control systems, fuel systems and critical power equipment.
Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
Experience in installation, commissioning and testing activities.
Relevant engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent).
Understanding of current regulations and standards relating to generator installation, controls and fuel systems.
Desirable
Experience delivering customer training.
Familiarity with telemetry, BMS and remote monitoring systems.
Full UK driving licence.
