We are seeking a reliable and skilled HGV Class 2 Driver for curtainside work, to join our long established transport company . We offer a competitive weekly pay with annual bonus scheme. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods ensuring that all deliveries are made on time and in compliance with road safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Operate a HGV to transport goods to various locations as scheduled.
- Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, adhering to weight limits and securing loads properly.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including times, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving to ensure safety on the road.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise during transit.
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients during deliveries.
Requirements
- Valid UK driving licence with the appropriate class for operating a HGV Class 2.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving roles.
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices for transporting goods.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet delivery deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude.
- Occasional nights out required
- ADR an advantage but not essential
