The Opportunity
An established food manufacturing business is looking for a Quality Assurance Technician to support the site’s technical and production teams, ensuring that products consistently meet the required standards for food safety, legality and quality.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working closely with production and has a strong eye for detail. You’ll carry out routine quality checks, monitor packing standards, maintain accurate records and support the investigation of any quality issues that arise.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out and record quality checks on incoming raw materials and finished products.
- Check that products are correctly labelled and meet the required specification.
- Ensure the correct and most up-to-date specifications and documentation are being used.
- Monitor production and packing lines, identifying issues such as quality defects, foreign body risks, packaging problems or labelling errors.
- Check that quality equipment is maintained appropriately and calibrated at the required intervals.
- Support taste panels, shelf-life assessments and other product evaluations where required.
- Work closely with QA, Production, Line Leaders and wider teams to communicate quality concerns and identify improvements.
- Ensure all quality checks and processes are completed in line with site procedures.
- Assist with investigations into non-conformances, quality issues and customer complaints, helping to implement corrective actions.
- Provide support to wider teams across the site when required, particularly during quieter periods.
About You
- Previous experience within a food manufacturing or fresh produce environment; soft fruit experience would be particularly advantageous.
- A good understanding of quality and food safety principles.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to completing checks and documentation.
- Good computer skills and confidence using standard systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The flexibility to adapt to changing production requirements and working hours.
- The ability to work independently while also being an effective team player.
Pay: £35,000.00 per year
