Overview
We are seeking an Experienced External Works Operative to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance and construction, with practical experience operating a variety of power tools and machinery. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about outdoor environments and skilled in mechanical maintenance and gardening tasks. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining and developing external spaces, ensuring high standards of safety and quality across all projects.
Projects range from 3 days to 3 weeks, with ongoing work available.
Price work may be available depending on the project.
Duties
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators and other construction equipment safely and efficiently.
- Use hand tools and power tools for various tasks including digging, trimming, and installation work.
- Conduct routine mechanical checks and basic repairs on equipment to ensure optimal operation.
- Assist with construction activities related to external works projects, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Support the installation of new features such as fencing, pathways, or garden structures.
- Perform regular site inspections to identify potential hazards or maintenance needs.
- Collaborate with team members to deliver projects on time and to the highest standards.
Skills
- Proven experience in landscaping
- Mechanical knowledge related to outdoor equipment and machinery.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment such as excavators.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures relevant to external works operations.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance on machinery and tools.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
