We're looking for an operational manager to join our team and play a key role in ensuring patients receive timely, high-quality care. Those with ability can obtain experience when in post but a background in operational management is an advantage.
Working closely with clinical, nursing and managerial colleagues, you will help drive performance, improve patient pathways and support the delivery of key organisational targets.
reporting to our Specialty Manager, you will lead and support the effective delivery of key operational services for the General Surgery Department in line with relevant Divisional and Trust policies
This is an exciting opportunity to influence service development, lead operational improvements and make a real difference to the experience of our patients.
You will also undertake projects across the Division, in collaboration with the Specialty Manager.
I As a key member of the management team, you will:
Be operationally responsible of of key divisional and organisational performance targets, including achieving 18 week Referral to Treatment (RTT) standards and patient access requirements.
Monitor patient pathways to ensure timely care and treatment.
Attend weekly performance meetings, providing insightful information on key standards and targets.
A key point of escalation for operational issues that may impact patient care, working collaboratively with clinical and nursing teams to resolve challenges.
Participate in surgical bed management rota, supporting the effective management of elective surgical activity.
Oversee clinic capacity and template management, ensuring services are responsive to demand and aligned with Directorate objectives.
Support the development of new pathways, services and processes to improve efficiency and patient outcomes.
We're looking for someone who:
Has proven operational management experience, ideally within a large, complex setting.
Understands performance management & patient pathway standards, including RTT.
Is confident analysing information & using data to drive decision-making.
Has excellent communication &stakeholder-management skills.
Can influence & build effective relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
Thrives in a fast-paced environmen & can successfully manage competing priorities.
Is committed to delivering exceptional patient care and service improvement.
