Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate, dedicated qualified Early Years Practitioner to join our nursery and before/after school club. You will be predominantly in the baby room but will also help in other rooms. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the development and well-being of young children, creating a nurturing and stimulating environment. Responsibilities
- Plan, organise, and deliver engaging educational activities tailored to the developmental needs of children aged 0-5 years
- Support children's emotional, social, and physical development through personalised care and interaction
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment that encourages learning and exploration
- Manage daily routines including meal times, nap times, and hygiene practices
- Supervise and guide junior staff or apprentices, demonstrating leadership and management skills
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and communicate effectively with parents and guardians
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and childcare policies at all times
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the nursery’s educational programmes through feedback and innovation
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early years setting
- Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare management
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to manage a team effectively
- Childcare qualifications recognised by relevant authorities (e.g., Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification)
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or attending external activities
- Passionate about child development with a caring attitude towards young learners
