About the role
This role provides administrative support to our busy Building Control service, ensuring compliance with the Building Regulations 2010. Key tasks and duties include handling enquiries, validation checking applications, booking inspections, and processing payments. It requires a highly organised individual with strong communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills, able to prioritise workload effectively. A proactive approach and commitment to excellent customer service are essential.
Essential criteria for the role (pull across the most essential qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience, not all of them)
E.g., Do you have a level 3 qualification in arboriculture (QCF) or equivalent and a willingness to improve your knowledge further? Do you have a current driving licence with daily access to a vehicle insured for business use?
Key responsibilities for the role
Validate and register applications, assess plans, calculate fees, and provide basic technical advice to applicants and stakeholders
Raise purchase orders, process payments, generate invoices, and manage correspondence and documentation in line with procedures
Arrange inspections and meetings, respond to enquiries (including land searches and records), and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
Promote the Building Control service, identify opportunities for improvement, and support flexible working arrangements to ensure continuity and performance

This role also requires office presence so for business continuity so the ability to travel into and work from the offices on a rota basis is a key requirement of the role.
