Kitchen Assistant – Welwyn Grange
£13.35 per hour - Bank Hours

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Kitchen Assistant to support our chefs in preparing nutritious, high-quality meals for our residents.
As a natural team player, you will enjoy working as part of a dedicated and friendly catering team and take pride in making a positive difference to the daily lives of our residents. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is keen to develop their skills and gain experience across all aspects of a busy kitchen environment.
Working as part of a friendly team, you will:
- Assist the chefs with basic food preparation and meal service.
- Plate up resident lunches to ensure meals are presented to a high standard.
- Receive and unload deliveries, ensuring stock is stored correctly.
- Wash up and maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
- Support the catering team to ensure meals are prepared and served efficiently.
- Follow food safety, health and hygiene procedures at all times.
About You
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work well in a busy environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A caring and empathetic approach when interacting with residents.
- A commitment to delivering a high-quality dining experience for our residents.
You will also have the opportunity to learn about IDDSI (International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative) food preparation requirements for residents with special dietary needs. This role could be the perfect first step into a catering career for someone who is eager to learn and develop their skills.
