Maintenance Operative – Full-Time (North East)
Join a growing residential property management company covering Gateshead, Sunderland, Newcastle & South Shields. We're looking for a genuinely skilled, all-round maintenance operative who can turn their hand to any job on our properties — no half-measures.
What you'll be doing:
- Plumbing — fitting toilets, baths, taps and fittings, resolving leaks and blockages properly
- Hanging and rehanging doors, fitting frames, adjusting hinges & locks
- Decorating to a high standard — walls, ceilings, woodwork
- Radiator removal, replacement, bleeding and troubleshooting
- Carpentry — skirting, architrave, shelving, structural-standard repairs
- Flooring — full laminate/vinyl laying plus repairs
- Tiling — proper kitchen & bathroom jobs, not just patch-ups
- Electrical work — sockets, switches, light fittings, wired correctly (non-notifiable scope)
- Full support on kitchen/bathroom fit-outs (Howdens-style installs)
- Lock changes and security fixes done right
- Gutter clearing and roof inspections, flagging anything bigger
- Complete void property turnarounds, ready for new tenants
- Reactive and emergency repair call-outs, handled competently
- Gardening and external upkeep
What we need from you:
- Proven, hands-on experience across property maintenance trades — you can genuinely do the job, not just get by
- Your own tools + reliable transport (essential — multiple sites)
- Confidence to work independently and manage your own workload to a proper standard
- Strong communication skills
- Full UK driving licence
Pay: £34,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
