Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Plasterer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying plaster to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces, ensuring a high-quality finish that meets industry standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in masonry, carpentry, roofing, or welding to utilise their skills within a dynamic environment. The successful applicant will work on various projects, contributing to both commercial and residential developments.
Duties
- Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying primers as necessary before plastering.
- Mixing plaster and other materials to the correct consistency using hand tools or power mixers.
- Applying plaster to walls, ceilings, and other structures with trowels, hawks, and floats to achieve a smooth finish.
- Installing lath or mesh as required for specialised plastering techniques.
- Repairing damaged surfaces by removing old plaster and reapplying new layers.
- Using masonry skills for bricklaying or patchwork when needed on site.
- Operating power tools such as drills, saws, and grinders safely and effectively.
- Assisting with related tasks including carpentry, roofing, or welding as part of broader construction activities.
- Ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations and company standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in plastering or related trades such as masonry or carpentry.
- Proficiency in handling hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment used in plastering.
- Knowledge of bricklaying, roofing, welding, and general masonry techniques is desirable.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship.
- Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in construction trades are advantageous but not essential.
