The Role
This is a consultative B2B sales role, ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, understanding client needs and developing tailored solutions.
Working with clients across a range of sectors, you'll manage opportunities from initial enquiry through to contract award, collaborating closely with our design, estimating and project delivery teams to ensure an outstanding customer experience.
You'll be responsible for both developing new business and growing existing client relationships, helping to drive the continued success of Cobal.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and grow your expert understanding of our products, services, markets and the wider industry.
- Develop and manage new and existing customer relationships.
- Identify new business opportunities through networking, referrals, prospecting and targeted business development that align with the Sales Strategy.
- Meet with clients to understand their requirements and provide expert advice on signage and wayfinding solutions.
- Prepare professional quotations and proposals that clearly demonstrate our recommended solution.
- Manage opportunities through the sales pipeline, following up quotations and negotiating contracts.
- Achieve agreed sales targets and maintain a healthy conversion rate.
- Carry out client meetings and site visits throughout the UK as required.
- Work closely with our estimating, design and project teams to ensure proposals are commercially and technically viable.
- Raise accurate and timely paperwork for sales order processing, ensuring all customer requirements are captured and all systems followed.
- Ensure a smooth handover of secured projects to the delivery team while remaining involved where required to support the client relationship.
- Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity within our CRM system.
- Keep up to date with industry trends, competitor activity and new product developments.
- Represent Cobal professionally at client meetings, networking events, exhibitions and industry events.
- Maintain ownership of each sale and client relationship from concept through to handover.
- Support the overall Cobal Business Plan and Sales Strategy: working honestly and professionally, and participate in staff events, business improvement initiatives, further training, client visits and supply chain meetings where appropriate.
About You
You'll be a confident relationship builder who enjoys solving customer problems and delivering exceptional service. You take ownership of your sales opportunities, are commercially aware and thrive in a collaborative environment.
You'll ideally have:
- Proven success in a consultative B2B sales role.
- Experience selling within signage, manufacturing, fit-out, interiors, construction, fabrication, refurbishment and re-branding spaces.
- Experience selling to corporate clients, facilities teams, architects, designers, premium hotels and premium retailers.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and make informed decisions
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Naturally proactive, organised and solutions-focused, with strong problem-solving and decision making abilities.
- The ability to understand technical information, drawings or specifications.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience using CRM systems to manage opportunities and customer relationships.
- Good Microsoft Office skills.
- A full UK driving licence.
