The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly organised and commercially focused Senior Property Management Accounts Assistant to join our Commercial Property Management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive property accounting service across a diverse portfolio of commercial properties, ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust financial controls, and exceptional client service. Working closely with Property Managers, Surveyors, Clients, Occupiers, and external stakeholders, you will manage the day-to-day accounting requirements of client portfolios, including service charge accounting, landlord accounting, budgeting, reconciliations, reporting, and compliance. The role requires strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will play a critical role in supporting the financial management of client assets, maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, governance, and service delivery.
Primary Objectives:
▪ Property accounting, financial reporting, and reconciliation of Client monies
▪ Deliver a comprehensive accounting service for a portfolio of commercial property clients ▪ Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in line with client and company requirements
▪ Produce income and expenditure reports, cash flow statements, and supporting schedules
▪ Assist with the preparation of year-end accounts and service charge reconciliations
▪ Manage landlord and tenant accounting transactions, including rent collections, recoveries, refunds, and adjustments
▪ Support the processing and approval of supplier payments and client banking transactions
▪ Process agent fees
The Successful Candidate Will:
▪ Prepare and submit VAT returns and support tax related reporting requirements where appropriate
▪ Have strong knowledge of Service Charge reconciliations ▪ Have accounts experience in a property related industry
▪ Maintain high standards of professionalism with clients, colleagues, and contractors
▪ Ensure compliance with RICS Client Money Protection regulations, company policies, and accounting standards
▪ Build strong working relationships with Property Managers, Surveyors, Facilities Managers, and other internal departments
▪ Have a strong understanding of commercial property accounting principles
▪ Be proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ property management systems
