Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Bench Joiner/Wood Machinist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality timber components, assembling bespoke wood products, and operating a variety of woodworking machinery. Your expertise will contribute to delivering exceptional craftsmanship for custom furniture, cabinetry, and architectural joinery projects. Duties
- Operate and maintain woodworking machinery such as saws, planers, routers, and lathes to produce accurate components
- Fabricate timber parts according to detailed drawings and specifications
- Assemble wood pieces using hand tools and power tools to create finished products
- Measure, cut, and shape materials with precision to ensure quality standards are met
- Perform heavy lifting of timber and materials safely during fabrication and assembly processes
- Assist in the installation of joinery elements on-site when required
- Conduct quality checks throughout the production process to ensure accuracy and craftsmanship excellence
Skills
- Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, and working with hand tools and power tools
- Strong background in carpentry, joinery, and woodworking techniques
- Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints accurately
- Knowledge of roofing, plumbing, masonry, electrical systems is a plus for versatile project support
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and standing for extended periods
- Familiarity with construction painting or finishing techniques is advantageous
- Excellent attention to detail combined with a proactive approach to safety standards

Pay: £16.00-£16.50 per hour
