Salary:45-50k
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (with occasional overtime)
Contract: Permanent
needs to be someone at supervisor level with the ability to and wanting to come off the tools within 18-24 months
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the appearance, safety, and cleanliness of a variety of commercial, industrial, and public sector sites. This is a hands-on role that requires a positive attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Grass cutting, strimming, edging, and hedge trimming.
- Weed control and vegetation management.
- Tree and shrub maintenance.
- Litter picking and site clearance.
- Maintaining pathways, car parks, and external areas.
- Operating and maintaining grounds maintenance equipment and machinery.
- Assisting with seasonal activities such as gritting, leaf clearance, and landscaping works.
- Ensuring all works are carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures.
- Completing work records and reporting any site issues to supervisors.
Essential Requirements
- Experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or a similar outdoor environment.
- Ability to safely use grounds maintenance equipment, including mowers, strimmers, hedge cutters, and leaf blowers.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
- Physically fit and able to undertake manual outdoor work in all weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic with excellent timekeeping and reliability.
Desirable Requirements
- PA1/PA6 Pesticide Application Certification.
- Chainsaw certification (NPTC).
- Experience working on MOD, commercial, or public sector sites.
- Trailer towing licence.
- First Aid qualification.
