About the Role
We are looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to join our HR team on a part-time basis (5 hours per day / 5 days a week) at our Birstall Office in Leeds. Reporting to the Head of HR, you will play a key role in delivering effective HR support across the employee lifecycle, including employee relations, payroll, HR administration, compliance, employee records, reporting and policy support.
You will also act as an important link between the UK HR function and our UAE Head Office, supporting alignment of HR policies, processes, reporting and people practices where appropriate.
The role will involve managing employee onboarding and offboarding, contracts, employee data, promotions, transfers, absence management and final settlements, as well as acting as a trusted first point of contact for employee queries, workplace concerns and HR matters. You will provide confidential advice and practical recommendations across a broad range of HR topics and support the management of disciplinary and grievance processes.
You will also take responsibility for end-to-end payroll administration, including expenses, mileage, salary payments, pensions, audits, statutory requirements and HR system accuracy. Maintaining accurate and confidential employee records, preparing HR reports and monthly board pack information, and supporting compensation and benefits benchmarking will also form part of the role.
A strong understanding of UK employment legislation is essential. You will monitor legislative changes, advise the Head of HR and UK Management Team on their implications, and support the implementation of HR best practice while ensuring policies and processes meet local legal and operational requirements. The role will also involve managing relationships with external service providers and supporting relevant commercial contracts.
The role will require occasional travel between our UK offices, showrooms and warehouses to engage with colleagues and business leaders across the wider business.
About you
You will have at least 5 years' HR experience, with strong knowledge of UK employment law and the confidence to provide practical HR advice across a broad range of matters. You will be highly organised, commercially aware and comfortable working independently in a part-time role.
You will also bring:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent attention to detail and time-management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- High levels of confidentiality, integrity and professionalism
- A proactive, positive and consultative approach
- The ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the business
- Experience using Microsoft Office and HR/ERP systems
- A degree or relevant professional HR qualification is desirable
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional looking for a part-time role with broad responsibility, working within an international business and partnering closely with both the UK management team and our UAE Head Office.
