Job Overview
Onshore Technical is currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to support a live gas infrastructure project in South Wales.
This is a contract opportunity outside IR35, with an immediate start available. The project involves overseeing works associated with the removal of permanent pig traps on the National Transmission System (NTS), working on a live gas asset.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day site operations, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining programme progress, and ensuring high standards of health, safety, quality and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
The Role
As Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the safe and efficient delivery of site activities on a live gas infrastructure project.
You will work closely with the project team, subcontractors, client representatives and other stakeholders to ensure works are delivered in line with site procedures, permit requirements, programme milestones and project expectations.
This role would suit a Site Manager with a strong gas construction background and proven experience working on high-pressure gas assets, AGIs, PRIs, compressor stations, NTS works or similar infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day site operations on a live gas infrastructure project
- Oversee works associated with permanent pig trap removal on the NTS
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors and site teams
- Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme requirements
- Maintain compliance with site procedures, permits and safety requirements
- Monitor progress against key project milestones
- Support planning, sequencing and coordination of site activities
- Maintain high standards of health, safety and quality across site
- Liaise with client representatives, subcontractors and project stakeholders
- Ensure site documentation, records and reporting are maintained accurately
- Support the resolution of site issues and ensure works remain on programme
- Promote a positive safety culture across the project
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in site management
- Strong gas construction site management background
- Experience working on live gas infrastructure projects
- Experience with NTS, AGIs, PRIs, compressor stations or similar gas assets
- SMSTS
- SHEA Gas
- Temporary Works Supervisor
- Strong health and safety awareness
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate site activities
- Strong understanding of site compliance, permits and project delivery requirements
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable Requirements
- SCO91 preferred
- Experience with permanent pig trap removal or similar NTS works
- Previous experience working on high-pressure gas assets
- Experience liaising with gas network clients or principal contractors
- Strong understanding of quality documentation and site reporting
