NC Associates are working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice to recruit an experienced Audit Manager. This is an opportunity for a commercially minded and technically strong Audit professional to join an ambitious and supportive practice.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for a varied portfolio of audit clients, leading engagements from planning through to completion while managing and developing a team of junior and senior audit professionals. You will work closely with senior management and partners, providing a high-quality service to clients and helping to support the continued growth of the audit function.
Managing a varied portfolio of audit clients and ensuring a consistently high standard of client service

Leading audit engagements from initial planning through to completion

Ensuring assignments are delivered on time, within agreed budgets and in line with relevant auditing standards

Reviewing audit work completed by junior members of the team and providing clear feedback
-
Preparing and reviewing audit files for senior management and partner review

Managing engagement budgets, monitoring WIP and supporting effective billing and recoverability

Acting as a key point of contact for clients throughout the audit process

Building and maintaining strong relationships with senior client stakeholders

Identifying potential risks, issues and opportunities throughout the audit process

Providing technical guidance and support to the wider audit team

Leading, mentoring and developing Audit Seniors and other junior team members
-
Holding regular performance and development discussions with direct reports
-
Supporting recruitment, training and the continued development of the audit team
-
Working closely with senior colleagues to maintain high quality and compliance standards

Supporting new client opportunities, tenders and wider business development activity

Identifying opportunities to introduce clients to additional services where appropriate

Contributing to the ongoing improvement and development of the audit department
To be successful in your application, you must have the following:

ACA or ACCA qualified

Minimum of 2 years' post-qualified experience
-
Significant experience working within an accountancy practice environment
-
Previous experience at Audit Manager level or operating at a Senior Manager level within audit
-
Experience managing a portfolio of audit clients
-
Strong technical knowledge of auditing standards and regulatory requirements
-
Experience leading audit assignments from planning through to completion
-
Previous experience reviewing the work of junior and senior team members
-
Strong client relationship management skills
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-
Experience managing audit budgets, WIP and recoverability
-
Strong leadership and people management skills
-
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with senior stakeholders

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple client deadlines
